FedDev Ontario has re-launched an expansion of the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund as of October 29th, 2020. With an additional $184 million in funding for southern Ontario businesses as part of the recently-announced top-up, they have also expanded and extended some of the parameters to provide liquidity support to more businesses and organizations in southern Ontario.
Major changes include:
- Increasing the maximum amount of funding from $500,000 to $1 million, to support costs incurred during the first year of the pandemic;
- Expanding eligible applicants to include limited or general partnerships, joint ventures, and not-for-profit (NFP) organizations that provide support services to businesses; NFPs that are engaged in commercial activities are also eligible to apply;
- Updating program criteria, including that RRRF assistance may support eligible expenses to cover personal protective equipment and other safety and sanitization measures required to operate during COVID-19.
