Protoplast Inc. (PPI) will expand its 50,000 square foot operation and modernize its operations. The province of Ontario, through the Eastern Ontario Development Fund, will contribute $85,000 to the $850,000 project.

Youth in Eastern Ontario communities are able to attend the Trade Roots career fair this fall when it resumes its tour through Eastern Ontario.
The fair promotes careers and educational opportunities in health care, technology, skilled trades, and other fields of employment. Bringing together local industries, businesses, educators, and employment services organizations, Trade Roots provides a venue for them to provide information about career and apprenticeship opportunities as well as offering hands-on demonstrations of the skilled trades and other professions.
The beautiful community of Erinsville is hosting music outdoors at the Lakeview Tavern on Saturday, August 18th from 3:30 to 6:30. A talented local lineup includes:
3:30 to 4:30- Barry Lovegrove and "himself" playing old and new and some jazz too.
4:30 to 5:30- Amy Gillan & Bruce McConnell "The River String Band" playing bluegrass & blues.
5:30 to 6:30- Sheila Bedard and "The Girlz" singing all the songs they love especially for you!
From music on Amherst Island and dinosaurs in Indian River, to tours of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited’s labs in Chalk River, there is plenty to do this weekend in Ontario East.
