Ontario East Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2021-2022

The Ontario East Economic Development Commission held its Annual General Meeting virtually on Thursday, February 10, 2022. With over 60 registrants, the AGM was well attended and members were provided with an update on programs and activities and were presented the most recent audited financial statements by WELCH LLP.

The organization remains in a positive financial position despite challenges of the pandemic and continues to manage and deliver a variety of regional economic development programs very effectively on behalf of its 140+ members, consisting of municipalities, organizations, businesses and government officials involved in economic development in eastern Ontario.

Stephen Paul, Director Community & Development Services, County of Lennox & Addington and a past president of Ontario East was appointed to a two year term as director. A Call for Nominations to the board will be issued later this year with plans for an election before year end for the 2023-24 board.

After the AGM the board elected officers and re-appointed Chris King, CEO - Quinte Economic Development Commission as President, TJ Flynn, Investment Attraction Officer - Northumberland County as Vice-President and Connor Renouf -  Economic Development Coordinator, Town of Perth as Treasurer. Shelley Hirstwood - Director of Business Development, City of Kingston, is Past-President and Jay Amer - Executive Director, is Secretary to the Board.

The following Ontario East members also serve on the 2022-23 Board of Directors: Carole Lavigne - Prescott-Russell, Kelley Lemenchick - Renfrew County CFDC, Suzanne McCrimmon - Peterborough & The Kawarthas Economic Development, Bob Peters - City of Cornwall, Bonnie Ruddock - Regional Tourism Organization (RTO) 9. Government (non-voting) directors are Lynne Groulx - MEDJCT, Heather Candler - OMAFRA and Ann-Marie Kelleher-Byers - FedDev Ontario.
