Incentives and Funding

The Ontario East Economic Development Commissions does not provide direct funding. However several of our partner Ministries and Agencies provide support to assist with business investment, growth and expansion in eastern Ontario. A number of tax credits are available to businesses in Ontario to help lower costs, hire and train workers, compete in the marketplace and support various sectors. Other incentives may also be available directly from Ontario East’s member communities.

Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)

FedDev Ontario delivers programs and services to support innovation and economic growth in southern Ontario—Canada’s most populous region.

Global Affairs Canada - Trade Commissioner Service

The Trade Commissioner Service helps Canadian businesses grow with confidence by connecting them with funding and support programs, international opportunities, and a network of trade commissioners in over 160 cities worldwide.

Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation & Trade (Ontario MEDJCT)

Supporting a strong, innovative economy that can provide jobs, opportunities and prosperity for all Ontarians.

Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs (OMAFRA)

The provincial government and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs work together to provide a set of funding programs that support good jobs, attract investment, and help the agri-food industry make an even greater contribution to Ontario's economic success.
